PCM will serve 94 Kindergarten through 5th grade students in the 2021-22 school year. The school will expand a grade level per year thereafter through 9th grade. At capacity PCM will serve approximately 300 students. PCM’s placed-based Montessori model features developmentally appropriate mixed-age classrooms, teaching teams composed of a dual certificated teacher accompanied by a trained paraprofessional, and hands-on Montessori aligned materials. At PCM, learning through action and real-life examples is deepened by place-based project learning, where students leverage local community resources and study the Pullman region’s local heritage, cultures, landscapes, opportunities, and experiences to expand their understanding of core academic concepts, their community, and their leadership within it.
