CIF Grants Awarded
PULLMAN DEPOT HERITAGE CENTER
The Pullman Chamber and Visitor Center Community Investment Fund Committee has awarded a Community Investment Fund Grant in the amount of $4,450 to Pullman Depot Heritage Center. These funds will be used for their project “Equip the Depot with Modern Technology to Tell Pullman’s Story”. This project will provide modern technology in the Freight Room for evening talks, community events and other activities.
PALOUSE DISCOVERY SCIENCE CENTER SIGNAGE
The Pullman Chamber and Visitor Center Community Investment Fund Committee has awarded a Community Investment Fund Grant in the amount of $1,600 to Palouse Discovery Science Center. These funds will be used to purchase new signage on the PDSC building, the driveway entrance and at the corner of Nelson and Hopkins Streets. The Grant was awarded to PDSC at the Pullman Chamber General Membership Luncheon held November 12, 2019.
PULLMAN REGIONAL HOSPITAL FOUNDATION REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC TRAINING PROGRAM
The Pullman Chamber and Visitor Center Community Investment Committee has awarded a Community Investment Fund Grant in the amount of $10,000 to Pullman Regional Hospital Foundation. These funds will be used to purchase Athlete Intelligence Cue Sports Sensors, which will provide Pullman High School Athletes with helmet and headband sensors that will monitor and measure head-impacts. The sensors will help coaches educate athletes on proper technique and help prevent impact injuries, which will further the safety of young athletes.
THE PHOENIX CONSERVANCY
The Pullman Chamber and Visitor Center’s Community Investment Committee has awarded a Community Investment Fund Grant in the amount of $1787 to The Phoenix Conservancy to be used towards a Palouse Edible Native Community Garden, where community members will experience and interact with their local native plant community. Harvest and planting events will provide social, outdoor opportunities, and gardening edible vegetation will benefit public health by promoting thoughtful, healthy eating and good lifestyle choices for the community.
REGIONAL THEATRE OF THE PALOUSE
The Pullman Chamber and Visitor Center’s Community Investment Committee has awarded a Community Investment Fund Grant in the amount of $5,000 to Regional Theatre of the Palouse. These funds will be used towards a Back-Alley Beautification Project in the easement shared by Regional Theatre of the Palouse, Stewart Title, Rico’s Pub, Creative Image and Daily Grind, with a goal of transforming the area to enhance interaction and experiences for patrons, visitors, staff and community members.
PULLMAN GOOD FOOD CO-OP
The Pullman Chamber and Visitor Center’s Community Investment Committee has awarded a Community Investment Fund Grant in the amount of $10,000 to Pullman Good Food Co-op. These funds will be used to finance market studies specific to food co-ops and to further efforts to provide equitable access to healthy, affordable, quality food to Pullman.
PALOUSE STEAM COALITION
The Pullman Chamber and Visitor Center’s Community Investment Committee has awarded a Community Investment Fund Grant in the amount of $300 to Palouse STEAM Coalition to help fund the 1st Annual Palouse STEAM Summit. The half-day event held August 22, 2018, hosted presentations and workshops geared towards helping educators learn to promote science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) education in our community.
